"In summary, the Chernobyl and Fukushima accidents had different causes and consequences. The Chernobyl accident was mainly due to operation mistake while Fukushima accident resulted from and earthquake. The Chernobyl accident had more severe consequences than Fukushima because more radionuclides was released during the accident and larger area was contaminated. Also the dose exposure of the workers was significantly higher in Chernobyl accident."

This tech would be better suited on the moon or for future cities on Mars, but on Earth there is too much potential for dangerous consequences.

So March and April are nuclear disaster months in world tech history.
"It was theatrically released on March 16, 1979, twelve days before the Three Mile Island nuclear accident in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, which gave the film's subject matter an unexpected prescience. It became a critical and commercial success." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_China_Syndrome

Of course California like Japan, is earthquake territory.
California is the most populated state in the USA. A Fukushima or Chernobyl like disaster would be devastating. Thus, it is hoped that the Diablo_Canyon_Power_Plant can be closed by 2025.
wikimedia.org/Diablo_Canyon"In June 2016, PG&E announced that it plans to close the two Diablo Canyon reactors in 2024 and 2025. Full decommissioning of the plant is estimated to take decades and cost nearly 4 billion dollars." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diablo_Canyon_Power_Plant
