From York to New York

Imagine telling people in York several hundreds of years ago that someday there would be a New York & like York, it would have a big complex with twin towers & a bulky.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:York_Minister_Central_Tower.jpg
Indeed, York Minster has a 3rd tower that's bulky, its called Central Tower.

"In 1407 the central tower collapsed; the piers were then reinforced, and a new tower was built from 1420. The western towers were added between 1433 and 1472."

Twin Towers of Liverpool and NYC...

The San_Remo designed by Emery_Roth, who seemed to have a thing for twin towers.
The Beresford opened in 1929 & has three towers. http://www.thecityreview.com/uws/cpw/cpw211.html
The San Remo & The_Eldorado are of a similar design.
The_Normandy was the last apartment with twin towers by Emery Roth. His sons would end up designing a set of twin towers larger than all of their fathers twin projects combined.
Emery_Roth_&_Sons along with Minoru_Yamasaki, designed the tallest twin towers in America.

What's it all about mythology, legends, symbols & language in general?
"Language_and_Human_Nature is the name of a joint literature project that was begun, but never completed, between C. S. Lewis and J. R. R. Tolkien."
While CSL died on the same day as JFK, JRRT died in the same year that WTC2, the South_Tower was completed. History shows that JRRT died 5 months after the official opening of the WTC complex in April 1973.
-
JRRT wrote The_Two_Towers several years before the NYC-WTC was ever built. By the early 20th century, NYC was already becoming the technological & entertainment Mecca of the Western World. But unlike the original Mecca, NYC was not yet known for its symbolic twin towers. Now Mecca will have a taller tower than any NYC skyscraper.
To this day, Tolkien's own original cover design for The Two-Towers book provides some interesting symbolism.
http://images.harpercollins.co.uk/hcwebimages/hccovers/032800/032878-fc170.jpg
It depicts a large black bird soaring from the moon tower to the star tower. Perhaps a symbolic Eastern tower with a crescent moon over it towards the 2nd tower with a Western star over it. So far, there doesn't seem to be any plan to put a star over the New WTC.

The general area of Mecca isn't all on flat terrain & its official elevation is listed as 909 feet, not 911'. However, one can certainly postulate that part of the regions land is certainly at 911 feet or 277.74m above sea level.

Sean_Lennon was born in New York City on October 9, 1975. That wasn't too long after the completion of its tallest twin towering complex.

Synchronicity of JFK and The Beatles

"Friday 22nd November, 1963 is still remembered by many, who lived through it as the day that President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas. Earlier on that eventful day, Parlophone had released the Beatles’ second album."
Somehow the album With_The_Beatles & its interesting dark cover was released on 11-22. Its customary for most people to dress in black to mourn the passing of someone. Album cover concepts & overall design can start months prior to the release date. So its not like someone would say, lets have a Beatles black album cover to coincide with the death of a very media visible person. Of course the timing was uncanny & several decades later PBS would broadcast a John Lennon documentary on 11-22.
-
The_Dream_Academy may have subconsciously tapped into the 11-22 synchronicity. {"In winter 1963 It felt like the world would freeze With John F. Kennedy And the Beatles."} http://www.songmeanings.net/songs/view/72673/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8YablrXxFCc Life_in_a_Northern_Town#The_original_version http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXqqw-gQqzo
-
As John Kennedy's death marked a low point in history on 11-22, John Lennon's band soared to a new high with the release of the 2nd studio_album. By the time The Beatles had arrived in North America to promote their 2nd album, NYC had a new name for its International_Airport.
Almost 4 decades later, Liverpool's International Airport was also renamed.
"Lennon joins figures like John F Kennedy (New York), Leonardo Da Vinci (Rome) and Josef Strauss (Munich) who have had airports named after them."
"2002 saw the airport being renamed in honour of John Lennon, a founding member of the Liverpudlian group the Beatles, twenty-two years after Lennon's death."
-
While Ed_Sullivan & Richard_Nixon shared a basic similar appearance, only Ed_Sullivan welcomed John & the rest of The Beatles.
There sure was a couple of guys named John that RM Nixon despised.
Richard_Nixon lost the presidential election to JFK in 1960 & was quite upset.
Years later, President Nixon tried to get John_Lennon deported.
-
Its tough to say as to why PBS chose 11-22-2010. Monday, November 22 at 9pm on PBS http://imaginepeace.com/archives/12089 http://www.pbs.org/wnet/americanmasters/episodes/lennonyc/about-the-film/1551/ 1hr & 54min http://www.pbs.org/wnet/americanmasters/episodes/lennonyc/watch-the-full-film/1722/ "...the film American Masters LENNONYC introduced by Susan Lacy, series creator and executive producer of American Masters and a producer of LENNONYC and Michael Epstein, director/writer of LENNONYC. New “episodes” will post weekly every Thursday until the Thursday after broadcast on November 22." http://www.pbs.org/wnet/americanmasters/episodes/lennonyc-beyond-broadcast/episode-4-elton-john/1654/

For some, late 1963 had become a dark winter of loss.

Foreboding Riders

{Message in the Plates?
On Friday, the 13th of October in 1967, I was involved in a head on motorcycle/car accident that cost me my left arm and nearly my life. After recovery, I noticed the licence plate from the bike was, in reality, a prediction of what was to have happened. The licence was "413T." The accident was recorded to have happened at 4 minutes to midnight on the 13 day of the Tenth month in Ontario in 1967. (All the info on the licence plate) Four decades later, I was filming a short documentary about riding a bike with an arm missing. The camera man noticed that the dealer plate on the loaned motorcycle was shockingly similar. Starting in the centre of the plate, 4 decades later and following through, came 413T again. The dealer had never seen the original plate and was astonished at the coincidence. I never rode again.--Paul}

The Millennium Timescape

Physical time travel is quite a concept to ponder. The implications to observe & even interact has astounding implications. Even just having the ability of precognition has startling implications. To be able to FlashForward to a certain point in time would be mind bending, indeed.
The_Lone_Gunmen_series starts with a plane that's under remote control towards the WTC. The actual WTC Vertical_Impact_Locations were above the 77th & 93rd floors, or about 924' & 1116'. A TV show can't prove that tower 2 was hit at just over 900' & tower 1 was hit just over the 1100' level. Such impact accuracy could be achieved by remotely controlled planes. Otherwise, its just another interesting coincidence in earths timeline.

II IIIIII II II IIIIII IIIIII I IIIII

{In 1948 Bernard Silver (1924–62), a graduate student at Drexel Institute of Technology in Philadelphia, overheard the president of a local food chain asking one of the deans to research a system to automatically read product information during checkout. Silver told his friends Norman Joseph Woodland (1921-) and Jordin Johanson about the request, and the three started working on a variety of systems. Their first working system used ultraviolet ink, but this proved to fade and was fairly expensive.[2]
Convinced that the system was workable with further development, Woodland quit his position at Drexel, moved into his father's apartment in Florida, and continued working on the system. His next inspiration came from Morse code, and he formed his first barcode from sand on the beach when "I just extended the dots and dashes downwards and made narrow lines and wide lines out of them."[2] To read them, he adapted technology from optical soundtracks in movies, using a 500-watt light bulb shining through the paper onto an RCA935 photomultiplier tube (from a movie projector) on the far side. He later decided that the system would work better if it were printed as a circle instead of a line, allowing it to be scanned in any direction.
On 20 October 1949 they filed a patent application for "Classifying Apparatus and Method", in which they described both the linear and bullseye printing patterns, as well as the mechanical and electronic systems needed to read the code. The patent was issued on 7 October 1952 as US Patent 2,612,994. In 1951 Woodland and Johanson moved to IBM and continually tried to interest IBM in developing the system. The company eventually commissioned a report on the idea, which concluded that it was both feasible and interesting, but that processing the resulting information would require equipment that was some time off in the future.
In 1952 Philco purchased their patent, and then sold it to RCA the same year. In 1962 Silver died in a car accident.} http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barcode#History

Within hours of the new logo going live, "why is google spelt wrong" and "why does google have two ls" were two of the most popular search phrases on the web.
Google was formed by Larry Page and Sergey Brin 11 years ago this month – in September 1998 – and the company has in the past altered its doodle to celebrate its own anniversaries.
For its tenth birthday last year the first letter "o" in Google was replaced with a cupcake.
Google has always used its logo as a way of commemorating important historical dates and major world events, but has become increasingly playful in recent weeks.
Last week Google put paid to speculation about the meaning of three "unexplained phenomena" doodles by admitting that they were designed to commemorate the 143rd birthday of the novelist HG Wells.
The first mysterious Google doodle appeared on September 5, and showed a flying saucer hovering over the Google logo and "abducting" the letter "O".
On September 15, a second Google doodle appeared, showing a flying saucer hovering over a field. The Google logo was spelt out as series of crop circles, and clicking on the doodle produced a list of web pages related to crop circles.
The third doodle, on September 21, featured a scene from Wells's book War of the Worlds.}

Freemasons await Dan Brown novel `The Lost Symbol'
By HILLEL ITALIE, AP National Writer

{WASHINGTON – The lodge room of the Naval Masonic Hall is a colorful and somewhat inscrutable sight for the nonmember, with its blue walls, Egyptian symbols, checkered floor in the center and high ceiling painted with gold stars.
Countless secrets supposedly have been shared in this and thousands of similar rooms around the world. Facts of life have been debated, honors bestowed, rituals enacted. You would need to belong to a lodge to learn what really goes on.
Or you could simply ask.
"The emphasis on secrecy is something that disturbs people," says Joseph Crociata, a burly, deep-voiced man who is a trial attorney by profession but otherwise a Junior Grand Warden at the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the District of Columbia.
"But it's not a problem getting Masons to talk about Masonry. Sometimes, it's a problem getting them to stop."
Countless books and Web sites are dedicated to Freemasons, yet the Masonic Order has been defined by mystery, alluring enough to claim Mozart and George Washington as members, dark enough to be feared by the Vatican, Islamic officials, Nazis and Communists. In the United States, candidates in the 19th-century ran for office on anti-Mason platforms and John Quincy Adams declared that "Masonry ought forever to be abolished."
And now arrives Dan Brown.
Six years after Brown intrigued millions of readers, and infuriated scholars and religious officials, with "The Da Vinci Code," he has set his new novel, "The Lost Symbol," in Washington and probed the fraternal order that well suits his passion for secrets, signs and puzzles.
In "The Lost Symbol," symbolist Robert Langdon is on a mission to find a Masonic pyramid containing a code that unlocks an ancient secret to "unfathomable power." It's a story of hidden history in the nation's capitol, with Masons the greatest puzzle of all.
Brown's research for "The Da Vinci Code" was highly criticized by some Catholics for suggesting that Jesus and Mary Magdalene conceived a child and for portraying Opus Dei — the conservative religious order — as a murderous, power-hungry sect.
The Mason response could well be milder. Brown goes out of his way in "The Lost Symbol" to present the lodge as essentially benign and misunderstood. Masons are praised for their religious tolerance and their elaborate rituals are seen as no more unusual than those of formal religions. The plot centers in part on an "unfair" anti-Masonic video that "conspiracy theorists would feed on ... like sharks," Langdon says.
"I have enormous respect for the Masons," Brown told The Associated Press during a recent interview. "In the most fundamental terms, with different cultures killing each other over whose version of God is correct, here is a worldwide organization that essentially says, `We don't care what you call God, or what you think about God, only that you believe in a god and let's all stand together as brothers and look in the same direction.'
"I think there will be an enormous number of people who will be interested in the Masons after this book (comes out)," Brown said.
Crociata and other Washington Masons expressed amusement, concern, resignation and excitement about Brown's novel. Crociata anticipates a "page-turner," like "The Da Vinci Code," and assumes, for the sake of a "good read," that Brown will make the Masons seem more interesting than they actually are.
Fellow Mason Kirk McNulty can't wait to read the novel: "Dan Brown is a writer of fiction; he's not writing an article for the Encyclopedia Britannica. Whatever he says is OK. But it would be better if he says something nice about Freemasonry."
Mason Michael Seay says some members are "not pleased about all the hoopla," but sees the attention as a chance to "get our story across." Lodge member Darryl Carter says he expects some "artistic license" and senses from conversations with other Masons that they expect to benefit from the attention.
"We welcome Dan Brown doing his work because Masonry has not had the kind of popularity that it once did and that a work by somebody of Dan Brown's caliber could really attract people to Masonry," Carter says.
The Freemasons date back to the Middle Ages, to associations of workmen who built cathedrals in Britain, though some also believe in a connection to ancient times with the mines where King Solomon took material for his Temple. Freemasonry has endured, and transformed. The British began to accept members who were not stonemasons and by the 1700s, lodges were being called "speculative," philosophical societies rather than worker guilds.
The Masons, Crociata and others emphasize, are not a political or religious organization. No theology beyond the belief in a divine being is required and no causes are advocated beyond millions of dollars in annual contributions to children's hospitals, cancer wards and other charities.
"This is the world's oldest fraternity and it has an old and distinguished history," Crociata says. "There's much beauty to be found in its ritual. On the other hand, it's a fraternity, not a religion. It's a place to get together with guys that you know, that you trust, that you are willing to trust. A place where you can speak from the heart, if you want."
No official gathering is taking place at the hall on this recent afternoon, so it's all right for a reporter to have a look around. The Naval Masonic room has features common to other lodges, such as the Mason emblem, a set square and compass and letter "G" (for both God and Geometry), and some decorative images, such as the Egyptian-styled eyes and snakes painted throughout.
Brown's book moves quickly among such Washington landmarks as the Library of Congress and the Washington Monument and draws upon the Masons' very public presence in Washington, dating back more than 200 years
George Washington used a Masonic gavel and trowel in 1793 as he lay the cornerstone of the U.S. Capitol. The same trowel would be included 55 years later when President James K. Polk, a Mason, presided over the laying of the cornerstone of the Washington Monument, and again in 1907 when President Theodore Roosevelt, also a Mason, laid a cornerstone for a Masonic temple.
According to "Freemasons for Dummies" author Christopher Hodapp (his book is so well regarded at the Naval lodge in Washington that it's kept in a glass cabinet outside the meeting room), membership peaked in the United States just after World War II, when there were close to 5 million Masons.
The number dropped in the 1960s, when the Masons seemed hopelessly antiquated to a rebellious generation, and dropped again in the late 1980s as older members died. Hodapp, himself a Mason based in Indianapolis, says there are now around 1.5 million in the U.S. and 3 million worldwide.
"But it's picking up again, in part because of people like Brown and (novelist) Brad Meltzer ('Book of Lies,' 'Book of Fate'). Younger men are seeing popular references to it. We're also seeing people from single-parent households who don't have that kind of brotherhood feeling you get in the lodge," Hodapp says.
Meetings at the Naval Masonic room are presided over by a Master who sits in a high-backed chair on the East side of the room, in honor of where the sun rises. On the South and West are chairs for the top aides, the senior warden and the junior warden. Only the North, "a place of Masonic darkness" (a belief related to the lighting of Solomon's Temple) is not represented.
Every lodge has an altar on which is placed a holy book, or books. A Bible is usually there, but because only a belief in a higher being is required, a Quran or other religious text might be found, depending on the religious faith of the members present. The black and white squares of the checkered floor below the altar represent "good" and "evil," terms the Masons resist defining too closely.
"As far as what is good and bad for any individual ... the idea is to inspire thought on some of the important questions of life on the minds of our members so that they can go home and think about them and draw their own conclusions," Crociata says.
Would-be members pass through three degrees of acceptance: Entered Apprentice, Fellow Craft and Master Mason. In "The Lost Symbol," Brown describes an initiation ceremony that Hodapp says is essentially accurate. A man is blindfolded, has a dagger pressed against his chest and is instructed to vow that, "uninfluenced by mercenary or any other unworthy motive," he will offer himself as "a candidate for the mysteries and privileges of this brotherhood."
Brown is not a Mason, but said that working on the novel helped him imagine a time when religious prejudice would disappear and added that he found the Masonic philosophy a "beautiful blueprint for human spirituality."
He was tempted to join, but, "If you join the Masons you take a vow of secrecy. I could not have written this book if I were a Mason," he says.
And now?
"They've let me know the door is always open."}

Shine on...Pink Floyd

Quite an interesting bit of coincidence & synchronicity here with The Floyd. It had been several years since they'd last seen Syd_Barrett. So of course while they were recording a Syd Barrett tribute song, that's just who popped into the studio for a visit. He was hardly recognizable as the man that they had seen in the band over half a decade earlier.

"Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here - Syd Barrett tribute"

{Wish You Were Here is the seventh studio album by English rock group Pink Floyd, released in September 1975. Inspired by material they composed while performing across Europe, it was recorded over numerous sessions at London's Abbey Road Studios. The album explores themes of absence, the music business, and former band-mate Syd Barrett's mental decline. Initial recording sessions were a difficult and arduous process but it was Roger Waters' idea to split the centrepiece track "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" in two, and join each half with three new compositions. "Shine On" was a tribute to Barrett, who, in an ironic twist, made an impromptu visit to the studio while it was being recorded. The band failed initially to recognize Barrett, who had gained weight and changed in appearance.}

{Wish You Were Here is the second Pink Floyd album to use a conceptual theme written entirely by Waters, and echoes his feeling at the time that the camaraderie that had served the band previously, was largely absent.[9] The album begins with an eight minute thirty seconds instrumental preamble, before segueing into the lyrics for "Shine On You Crazy Diamond". "Shine On" is a tribute to former band member Syd Barrett, whose drug-induced breakdown had forced him to leave the band several years before.[10] Barrett is fondly recalled with lines such as "Remember when you were young, you shone like the sun" and "You reached for the secret too soon, you cried for the moon".}

{However, after several weeks Waters began to visualize another concept.[20] The three new compositions from 1974's tour were at least a starting point for a new album, and Shine On You Crazy Diamond seemed a reasonable choice as a centerpiece for the new work. Mostly an instrumental twenty-minute-plus piece similar to Echoes, the opening four note guitar phrase reminded Waters of the lingering ghost of former band-member Syd Barrett.[24] Gilmour had composed the phrase entirely by accident, but was encouraged by Waters' positive response.[25] Waters wanted to split "Shine On You Crazy Diamond", and sandwich two new songs between its two halves. Gilmour disagreed, but was outvoted three to one.[26] "Welcome to the Machine" and "Have a Cigar" were barely-veiled attacks on the music business, their lyrics working neatly with "Shine On" to provide an apt summary of the rise and fall of Barrett;[27] "Because I wanted to get as close as possible to what I felt ... that sort of indefinable, inevitable melancholy about the disappearance of Syd."[24] "Raving and Drooling" and "Gotta Be Crazy" had no place in the new concept, and were set aside.}
